Vincent. Watercolor and paint marker on watercolor paper. Beautiful, emotive portrait of Vincent Van Gogh, based on Van Gogh's "Self Portrait with Straw Hat", 1887. My thought process behind this piece was to create a high level of drama and contrast, while maintaining a similar feeling to the style of the original. Colors in this work are intentionally much bolder and brighter than the original. The background serves to represent Van Gogh's hunger to experiment with color and the nature of his mental state. Cool art!
